  • Louise Harris was awarded a plaque of recognition from Bill Logan, the President of Mid-Govans, in recognition of her commitment to the GBA-CARES program and the weekly cleaning up efforts along York Road. Congratulations to Louise, a GBA Board Member.

  • Penza Associates Architects received First Prize Chairman's Choice, for their tree design at the Kennedy Kreiger Festival of Trees, entitled "The Grinch brings (He)Art to Baltimore", with reference to the Male/Female sculpture at Penn Station.
  • Businesses that improve the streetscape with façade improvements or landscaping receive Good Neighbor Awards (click here to access link)
  • *Officer Jon Walter and Officer Doug Gibson, our Community Relations Officers, were featured in The Baltimore Sun, on the front page of the Maryland Section, Sunday December 12, 2004.  It was a nice positive article describing the Shop with a Cop Program.  Jon ?buddied' with Edgar Probst, 10, and Doug (with photo sitting on Santa's lap!!!) ?buddied' with Clay Kerin, 8.
  • The City Paper honored several Govanstowne businesses in the September 22, 2004 edition, including Save-A-Lot, Best Place to get your generics; Atwaters, Best Bakery; New York Fried Chicken, Best Fried Chicken; TechLab, Best Photo Lab; Bangkok Place, Best Thai Food; Grand Cru, Best Wine Bar; Wells Discount Liquors, Best Liquor Store.  Congratulations!
  • The opening of Taste was announced in the Daily Record on September 4, 2004.
  • Another very nice positive article about Belvedere Square in The Sun, July 5, 2004, front page of MD section.
  • Mr. Terry Sawyer's promotion to Vice president for Administration at Loyola College was in The Messenger, 7/1/04, as well as the BBJ, July 2-8, 2004 issue.  Congratulations to Terry, who was a GBA Board Member.
  • Cloud 9 was featured in The Sun, Sunday, June 27, 2004, Home & Family Style File.
  • Belvedere Square - again featured in an article in Baltimore Business Journal (BBJ), June 25-July 1, 2004 p.47.
  • Belvedere Square - very positive article in Baltimore Business Journal (BBJ), June 18, 2004 p.3, with photograph of Aaron Reinhart, a manager at Ryan's Daughter, comments from Atwaters and Grand Cru and other Belvedere tenants noted.  
  • Seeing a Premier at the Senator Theatre was cited as one of 100 ways to become a true Baltimorean in the June 2004, Baltimore Magazine Ultimate City Guide.
  • Ceriello Fine Foods was featured in a very nice article "Shop around the World (without leaving town)" in the June 2004, Baltimore Magazine Ultimate City Guide - noted as being like shopping in Rome!
  • The May/June 2004 Urbanite has a nice article on Saigon Remembered, entitled ?Adding Flavors to the Melting Pot' (p.22).
  • Lynne Brick - The Daily Record, May 2004, recognized Lynne Brick as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women, as well as one of the 2004 Circle of Excellence honorees (having been chosen three times).  Congratulations, Lynne!
